Reverse lay-up is a lay-up that use the backboard and done with your back facing the hoop. Reverse lay-up usually use when the defense is too intense for direct penetration into the hoop. It is also very effective to do a fake on your normal lay up while you proceed to your reverse lay-up.
How to do a reverse layup?

- Dribbling from the side of the court.
- Hold the ball when you are two steps away from the rim.
- Take the first step, head fake on the normal side, take another half step.
- Elevate towards the reverse side of the rim.
- At the top of your leap, roll the ball with your shooting hand.
- Try to add a spin to the ball so that it spins off the backboard into the hoop.
